how to change from park flash pattern to drive flash pattern in ford vehicles
- The fog light indicator will blink to indicate which flash pattern you are on when in park. For example, if the fog light indicator blinks four times, then pauses and begins again, you are on pattern four.
- When the vehicle is shifted into drive, there will be a slight glitch in the dashboard to indicate the Z-Flash is now utilizing the default Drive pattern.
- When the vehicle is shifted back into park, it will revert to the last Park pattern you were using.
HOW TO build custom flash patterns
Getting Started
Building Custom Flash Patterns
Additional Information
- Plug your module into your computer using the provided USB cable.
- Open the Z-Flash Software.
- The Z-Flash Programming Utility window will appear. First, confirm that you are using the correct software version. Click on the question mark on the right-hand side of the window. You should have “Version 2.0.0” or later installed.
- Once you have confirmed the correct software version, click on “Configure Device.” This will load the settings menu and all its various customization options.
- Every preloaded flash pattern is denoted by a number on the upper left-hand corner of the Programming Utility window. Click on this number to switch between patterns. You can also add/edit the name of the pattern in the “Pattern Name” field.
- Each pattern includes a series of steps that activate and deactivate specific lights.
- To delete a step in the pattern, simply select it and click the “Delete Step” button.
- To add a step, click on the “Light” drop-down menu and select the light you wish to activate. Next, click on the “On/Off” drop-down menu and select “On.” Please note: if you add a step and turn on a light, you must also add a step that turns off that light.
- Between every 6 and 12 steps, you must add a “Delay.” This gives time for the firmware to reload and properly maintain the flash pattern. Note: When you add a “Delay” it must be set to “Off.”
- Remember to save your progress regularly by clicking on the “Save to Z-Flash” button.
Building Custom Flash Patterns
- To build a custom flash pattern, select a pattern and click the “Clear” button at the bottom left-hand corner of the Programming Utility window. This will clear all the preloaded steps for that specific pattern and give you a blank slate to work with.
- Please note that not all of the lights listed in the drop-down menu can be activated on every vehicle. To find out which of your vehicle’s lights can be activated, we suggest you choose an inactive pattern and turn on each light to see if, and how, it flashes.
- Proceed with building your pattern by following steps 2-4 of the “Editing Flash Patterns” section.
Additional Information
- On the right-hand side of the Programming Utility window is the “Settings” menu. Here, you can enable and disable specific lights on your vehicle. Note: the center mount high stop light can only be activated on select vehicles.
- You can also enable and disable specific flash patterns in the “Settings” menu. Simply check/uncheck the desired flash pattern.
- If you’re working on the module while it’s plugged in your vehicle, you can use the “Test Light Show” feature to preview your flash pattern. Pro tip: customize your flash patterns in an area with walls (like a garage) so you can more easily test your flash patterns without having to get out of your vehicle every time.
- Click the “Flash Pattern Speed” drop down menu to choose between slow, medium, fast, or ludicrous flashing speeds. Slow and medium speeds are best for halogen lights, while fast and ludicrous are best for LEDs.
